Waiting Staff will develop customer service skills that will provide progression opportunities across many industries. This may initially be as a supervisor and, with additional training, management roles such as catering or restaurant manager. Customer relationship skills will provide you with opportunities to work in retail and dedicated customer service and sales roles. This may be in customer advisory positions, which could progress to customer service officer and account management roles.
Bartender
A Bartender's primary role is to make and serve beverages to their customers. They will work as part of a customer-facing team, interacting with people and creating a positive customer experience. Career Progression:
The role of a Bartender will provide an excellent foundation for progressing a career in the hospitality industry. Bartenders will have opportunities to progress to supervisor and manager roles, which may include bar management, leading to catering, or operational manager roles. Specialist skills could lead to you becoming a mixologist and your customer service and relationship skills could provide opportunities in other industries such as retail or sales. You could also use your experience and some additional training to progress toward a career in Events Management. Cleaner
Cleaners will conduct a range of tasks to ensure standards of cleanliness are maintained. Their place of work will normally be at a property, such as an office or an industrial building, and require them to work to schedules that fit with the business needs. Cleaners will usually work as part of a team and take on duties such as cleaning floors and surfaces but they may also have responsibilities for ordering equipment and consumable items required for their role. Depending on the environment they work in, Cleaners may also need to work to specific standards, such as hygiene and health and safety, and have knowledge of hazardous materials.
