Our Get Into Retail programme with Marks & Spencer is returning to Wales this March 2025!

This 4-week programme is open to NEETs aged 16-30 who are keen to gain invaluable work experience in the Retail sector with Marks & Spencer in the following locations:

Cardiff Queen St

 Cardiff Culverhouse Cross

Llanishen

Talbot Green

Merthyr Tydfil

This programme will combine instore work experience and face-to-face training with ourselves at the King’s Trust.

Get Into Retail with Marks & Spencer

Taster Day Details

• Taster/Selection Day: Tuesday 17^th February 2025
• Location: Cardiff (Location will be confirmed with young people on sign-up)

Please note that the taster day is a selection day, we therefore advise that young people must be work ready and have a positive attitude.

Programme Details: Monday 3^rd – Thursday 27^th March 2025

• Programme Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 4pm
• Programme Length: 4-weeks
• Weeks 1-4: King’s Trust Employability Day every Monday (CV writing, interview skills, application forms, sector-based training, managing wellbeing & confidence building workshops). Tuesday – Friday in store work placement and a Final Celebration on Thursday 27^th March 2025.
• Post programme – 3-6 months progression support from King’s Trust staff, plus induction support for those successful in gaining employment with Marks & Spencer.

 Misc Details

• Person Spec: Candidates must have an interest in working in retail in a customer facing environment. Candidates must also be willing to work on their feet for long periods of time. No previous experience necessary.
• Documentation/ID: On programme completion, candidates will need to have ID / right to work documents e.g. Passport, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate to start employment.
• Travel costs are reimbursed and lunch budget of £20 per week through M&S. We are unable to reimburse travel costs without receipts.
• Criminal Convictions: All convictions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
