The Open University is Wales' largest part-time undergraduate higher education provider. It is a world leader in providing innovative and flexible distance learning opportunities at higher education level, including undergraduate, postgraduate and entry courses.
More than 16,000 students from communities across Wales are currently studying with The Open University, and more than two-thirds are in employment while they study. The Open University works with businesses, charities and public bodies in Wales to help them develop their staff, and encourage more people to learn throughout life, regardless of their background. The Open University has students in every constituency in Wales.
The Open University in Wales offers vocational degree programs in nursing and social care, and since 2020, it has been training teachers on its innovative bilingual PGCE course.
